GOoffline.net - Update 2 - surrounded by lions!


Four fantastic days in majestic Selous Game Reserve - facing nature and wildlife in one of the worlds largest wildlife controlled areas!

It's difficult to determine what excited the safari-couple most, being surronded by 14 lions all around the car, or meeting a herd of 12 sable antilopes, being chased by 20 elephants or a herd of buffaloes! Even the guide on the safari, Abby - the safari manager of Paka Adventures Ltd. have not seen sable antilopes in Selous in the last 5 years!

After the days in Selous, including boat safari on Rufiji river, walking safari with armed ranger, and wildlife viewing including wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, worthogs, waterbuck, impala and baboons to mention some, the journey north started.

11 hours on dusty rough roads, muddy as well, crossing the spectacular Uluguru Mountains, Tanzanias capitol, Dodoma were the place to sleep enroute to Haydom, Arusha, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.
