Predators and other creatures. Mikumi National Park and Mikumi Wildlife Camp

We didn't care about legs paining after the trekking in Udzungwa Mountains. Arrived at Mikumi National Park, we immediately left for a late afternoon game drive – and we realized soon that was the right choice.

Just a little bit of patience, the time to get a little bit inside the park... we spotted gazelles, wildebeests and zebras, at first.

Later, watching carefully the landscape, we managed to see lionesses and their puppies nearby a wanter pond. The driver stopped the car for a while, recommending us to keep quiet and silent. After a few minutes the lioness started to approach the road, right in our direction. That was amazing! We could see them crossing just a few meters in front of us, before they disappeared in the bush again.

We were already very happy with the animals met along the way, but it wasn't finished yet. Getting back to the camp, we saw a group of elephants eating grass on the road side. And curious giraffes, staring at us from a short distance.

It has been good as well to get back and relax at Mikumi Wildlife Camp, inside the border of the park. White rooms plenty of light and dinner in the terrace of the restaurant, with direct view of the savannah. At the end of a long day, we still found some energy to seat and chat around the camp fire.
